On Mar. 11, NEB LEG enacted bill on qualification of benefit claims.
NEB LEG approved Bill LB 197, to change provisions relating to disqualification for benefits, claim determinations and redeterminations under Employment security law.
Allows adjudication of unemployment claims through means other than adjudicator.
Further, allows reconsideration of benefits if audit finds error in original determination.
Benefit Claims Determination
Measure allowed the Nebraska Department of Labor to adjudicate claims for unemployment insurance benefits through other means than by a claim adjudicator.
Claims arising out of same alleged labor dispute may be considered at the same time.
A determination upon a claim filed will be made promptly by the department, with a statement on benefit amounts claimant is entitled to for the week of determination.
Redetermination upon a claim filed may be made by a representative designated by the commissioner, hereinafter referred to as adjudicator, with adjudicator conditions.
Applies if benefit accuracy measurement program review finds error in determination.
