Overview
Requested information from Lusha Systems Inc, US company offering companies enriched information via its online platform to find or verify, email addresses, landline and mobile phone numbers.
Platform accessible from Italy, with services offered to users who connect from Italy.
Further, presence of data of people living in Italy in Lusha database is confirmed by reports received, in which people complain of receiving unwanted promotional and/or commercial calls, made thanks to data obtained from services made available by it.
ITA DP, per potential risks also for people living in Italy, asked Lusha to submit some information within 20 days: specify how much data of people living in Italy collects or processes, clarify methods of collection, more date on each source feeding database.
Lusha must also clarify if personal data of users who do not use platform processed.
Particularly re email addresses, phone numbers, must specify: sources of acquisition.
Also, if consent acquired to send advertising or market research; purposes for which such data is communicated to users and related request for consent.
Phenomenon long under attention of ITA DP, which since Jan. 2025 has penalized numerous real estate agencies that promoted intermediation services using phone numbers from third-party company that manages service similar to Lusha's.
Effectiveness
Lusha has until Apr. 28, 2025 to submit the requested data.
