CME issued Notice 25-057 on mandatory update required for service users of CORE API, CME’s interactive margin calculator tool; testing can begin Feb. 13, 2025.
CORE API
Enhancements to CME CORE API Service CORE API URLs changing for users in both test and production environments to align to CME’s broader set of API endpoints.
Improving authentication security, users are required to alter the way they submit usernames and passwords for Basic Auth in both test and production environments.
Previously, users submitted requests with username, password in API request header.
After Feb. 28, 2025 in test environment, and Mar. 28 in the production environment, users will instead be required to provide a more secure form of authorization.
Give direct access to CME Clearing initial margin engines via simple, secure REST API.
API license and a user-defined CME Login API ID are required to access the CORE API.
Effectiveness
Changes require users to take action on or before Feb. 28, 2025 in test environment.
