On Mar. 25, UK GVT issued guide on staged timetable for connection.

  • UK GVT issued guidance titled Pensions dashboards: guidance on connection: the staged timetable; it is applicable to trustees or managers of relevant occupational pension schemes and providers of personal and stakeholder pensions.
  • Sets out a staged timetable for occupational pensions schemes and personal and stakeholder pension providers to be connected to the pensions dashboards ecosystem.
  • Follows UK GVT Dec. 2023 pensions dashboards deferral guidance, see #181630.
  • Guidance Overview
  • All schemes and providers are legally required to be connected to pensions dashboards ecosystem, be ready to respond to requests for information by Oct. 31, 2026 at latest.
  • Guidance sets out staged timetable for such schemes and pension providers to be connected to pensions dashboards ecosystem, and process find and view requests.
  • The guidance issued by the pensions dashboards program (PDP) will provide further detail on the process of connecting to the pensions dashboards ecosystem.
  • Including, but not limited to, when to contact the PDP and the onboarding process.
  • Guidance should be read in with PDP standards, including the code of connection.
  • PDP will produce connection and testing materials to support the pensions industry.
  • Furthermore, UK TPR issued guidance and checklist to support schemes with connecting and supplying data to the pensions dashboards ecosystem (see #141381).

  • Connection timetable prioritizes schemes, providers with greatest memberships.
  • This approach, if followed, will ensure a sufficiently high level of pensions memberships will be available to find and view on pensions dashboards as early as possible.

  • Legal Status of Guidance
  • Trustees or managers and pension scheme providers must have regard to the guidance in order to comply with requirement in regulation 15(2)(d) of the Pensions Dashboards Regulations 2022 (StIn 2022/1220) and COBS 19.11.8R of UK FCA’s handbook.
  • Hence, the guidance must be taken into account when preparing to connect to pensions dashboards ecosystem; failure to do so constitutes a breach of the law.

  • In Apr. 2025, UK TPR issued videos on pension dashboards for savers, see #250800.
