On Sep. 14, PR RICO INS requested designations for syndicate meeting.
PR RICO INS issued Circular CC-2026-2066-AF and form for Designation of Authorized Representative re joint underwriting of medical-hospital professional liability insurance.
Joint Underwriting
Article 41.040 of the Insurance Code of Puerto Rico created Syndicate of Insurers for the joint underwriting in order to provide such insurance to qualified applicants.
Syndicate addresses insurers authorized in Puerto Rico to write insurance in property, marine and transportation, agricultural, vehicles, accident, as well as surety.
These insurers will be members of the syndicate and membership is mandatory in order to underwrite insurance in PR RICO, and they can vote at upcoming meeting.
Schedule of premiums underwritten by syndicate members for classes of insurance, and the 2025 premiums for Medical-Hospital Liability Insurance will be distributed.
Effectiveness
Meeting for the syndicate members will be held virtually on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026.
Designation of an Authorized Representative must be completed by the entity President, Secretary, or another authorized representative and submitted before the meeting.
