OKL INS issued Bulletin No. 2026-04 on legislative changes for 2026 to inform property and casualty insurers about House Bill 4143 (HB 4143).
HB 4143 Amendment Highlights
Amends the OKL INS 47 10-108(A), relating to motor vehicle collisions on non-private property leading to accidents, including death or damage to one vehicle.
Raises the amount required of the operator of a motor vehicle involved in the collision to $3,000 if the operator does not settle within six months after the accident.
Involved parties must create a report about the settlement if they reach one.
The report is not required when all parties involved agree to exchange information, but there should be no injuries, death, or property damage except to vehicles.
Effectiveness
The changes will become effective on Nov. 1, 2026.
