AGO CB issued Instruction 1/2025 on deposit and withdrawal operations of Kwanza notes and coins at its premises.
Overview
There is a need to adjust rules and procedures inherent to deposit, withdrawal and circulation operations of national currency, by banking financial institutions, at AGO CB.
Instruction issued under combined provisions of art 36 of Law 14/21 on General Regime of Financial Institutions, with arts 6, 7, and art 98 of the AGO CB Law 24/21.
Instruction defines rules and procedures for deposit and withdrawal of notes and coins, hours for those at safes of AGO CB in Casa do Kwanza, Regional Delegations, Custody of Securities services or other duly authorized location, with prior communication.
Rules apply to banking financial institutions in number 2 of article 7 of Law 14/21.
Deposit and withdrawal operations of notes and coins, carried out in Province of Luanda, continue to be carried out at headquarters of AGO CB, until the necessary conditions are met for their performance at the Casa do Kwanza.
Effectiveness
Instruction in force 30 days after its publication i.e. Apr. 23, 2025; Instruction 06/19, Instruction 18/20 and all regulations that contradict the new instruction are revoked.
