TAI BAC Suspend Debt Collection
On the same day, TAI BAC said it has coordinated with member banks to suspend debt collection during the Lunar New Year holiday from Jan. 25, 2025 to Feb. 2, 2025.
All banks including outsourced collection agencies will suspend all collection operations, including text messages, letters, phone calls, visits, and compulsory execution of the debtor's movable or immovable property during the Lunar New Year holiday.

On Jan. 10, 2025, TAI CB issued notice regarding to exchanges of new banknotes.
Jan. 10, 2025 TAI LAB, TAI BLI Reminder
On Jan. 10, 2024, TAI LAB, TAI BLI reminded employers who recruit temporary part-time workers during the Lunar New Year to apply labor insurance, employment insurance, and labor occupational accident insurance for part-term workers.
TAI LAB reminded employers to grant leave and pay according to Labor standards act.
If Lunar New Year holidays fall on workers' statutory holidays or rest days, the employer and employee shall negotiate to select a date to make up for the holiday.
Jan. 16, 2025 TAI GVT Tax Reporting
On Jan. 16, 2025, TAI GVT extended reporting period for various income withholding and exemption statements from Jan. 31, 2025 to Feb. 5, 2025, due to Lunar New Year.
TAI KH Tax also issued extension re salaries exempt from withholding tax, #233007.
TAI GVT reminded that the issuance deadlines of withheld taxes for non-residents can be extended by five days, following the 3 consecutive public holidays, see #222229.
Jan. 16, 2025 TAI FSC Measures
On Jan. 16, 2025, TAI FSC issued measures for ensuring financial stability on holidays.
FIs shall provide uninterrupted services such as e-banking, credit card and electronic payments, ATM cash withdrawals, hotlines for overseas securities and insurance.
Strengthen cybersecurity measures with system monitoring, restricted remote access, enhanced authentication, incident reporting to F-ISAC, pre-/post-holiday system tests.
They shall educate public re fraud prevention; monitor accounts to detect fraud cases.
TAI FSC has established a crisis response team, and financial institutions are required to have emergency response mechanisms and adequate staffing during the holiday.
Jan. 22, 2025 TAI CB Measures
On Jan. 22, 2025, TAI CB said it has requested financial institutions to retain sufficient inter-bank clearing funds, and strengthen the maintenance of the inter-bank system.

On Jan. 23, 2025, TAI FSC emphasized importance of anti-fraud measures and timely assistance, given the increase in digital banking activity during the holiday period.

On Jan. 24, 2025, TAI FSC said insurance companies are to ensure uninterrupted services for policyholders during Lunar New Year holiday, e.g., for claims applications.

On Jan. 25, 2025, TAI FSC said TAI FEX will increase futures margin requirements by approximately 10% during the Lunar New Year holiday from Jan. 23 to Feb. 2, 2025.
This aims to address potential global market volatility during the holiday period, with margins for equity index, ETF, commodity, currency contracts based on Jan. 21 levels.
New margin levels take effect after the Jan. 22 close and will be reassessed on Feb. 3, 2025; traders and brokers are advised to monitor risk and account balance closely.

On Jan. 28, 2025, TAI FSC conducted spot checks on ATMs across seven regions on Jan. 28, 2025, in order to ensure their proper operation during the Lunar New Year.
FSC emphasized that FIs have implemented measures to ensure uninterrupted banking services, ATM services, smooth payment transactions while maintaining cybersecurity.
Feb. 2, 2025 TAI FSC Reporting Deadline
On Feb. 2, 2025, TAI FSC reminded public companies that the deadline for reporting Jan. 2024 business operations remains Feb. 10, despite the Lunar New Year holiday.
The required disclosures include operating revenue, endorsements and guarantees, loans, and derivative transactions, as mandated by securities regulations.
