BEL PRL adopted bill 55K3394 amending the law of Feb. 27, 2019 on the electronic exchange of messages via the eBox.
Purpose
The law of Feb. 27, 2019, created a legal framework for the electronic exchange of messages between authorities and natural persons, companies or other public bodies.
The citizens eBox is offered by the Federal Public Service Strategy and Support (SPFBOSA) and the companies eBox is offered by the National Social Security Office.
Bill developed further the eBox, as provided for in the 2020 Government Agreement.
The public, businesses can respond to an eBox message from the public authorities.
Registered electronic delivery service private provides can send notifications to citizens, upon consent, and to companies that a message is available on their platform.
In a later phase, the actual messages that citizens and businesses send via a provider qualified as electronic registered delivery service provider will be available in the eBox.
Under tax dematerialization rules, companies must use their eBox until Jan. 1, 2025.
Authorities can send via eBox a large number of registered items after Jan. 1, 2025.
