RI LEG passed SB 2278, Senior savings protection act, which amended RI LEG 6-40.
Provisions
Prohibits any party from charging a fee for providing a hard copy of a paper bill, statement, or invoice in the sale of goods or services to a person 65 or older.
Violation of this prohibition is deemed to be a deceptive trade practice subject to a fine of up to $500 as a penalty for a deceptive trade practice under RI LEG 6-13.1-14.
