On Aug. 14, SK GVT issued plan to extend fuel tax cuts for 2 months.
SK GVT issued a plan to extend temporary fuel tax cuts on transportation fuels scheduled to end on Aug. 31, 2025 for an additional two months until Oct. 31, 2025.
The current 10% tax cuts for gasoline, 15% for diesel/LPG butane will be maintained.
This measure was designed to alleviate the uncertainties surrounding domestic and international oil prices as well as the burden of fuel costs on the public.
Next Step
For extension, amendments to Enforcement decree of the traffic, energy and environment tax act and Enforcement decree of the individual consumption tax act will be implemented from Sep. 1, 2025, following a Cabinet meeting on Aug. 26, 2025.
