On Mar. 13, UK GVT issued regulations on statutory maternity pay.
UK GVT published Statutory Maternity Pay (Compensation of Employers) (Amendment) Regulations 2025 (StIn 2025/330), amending previous 1994 principal regulations.
Increased Compensation
The principal regulations enable a small employer to recover payments of statutory maternity pay in full, as well as an additional amount in respect of such pay.
By regs 3(b) and 4(b) of the 2025 regulations, additional amount small employers can recover rises from 3% to 8.5% of amount of statutory maternity pay they paid out.
Amends an existing percentage figure in accordance with a pre-determined formula.
