Guardianship-Conservatorship Law outlines the duties of guardians and conservators.
Current law allows a conservator to establish a conservatee's residence and requires choosing the least restrictive appropriate option, usually the conservatee's home.
A notice of residence change must be filed with the court within 30 days, and specific relatives must be informed 15 days before moving a conservatee from their home.
Notice must also be given 20 days before moving a conservatee from their current residence and extends notice requirements to those requesting special notice.
Additionally, the bill mandates that conservators provide notice of a conservatee’s death and details of any funeral arrangements, preferably electronically.
