CAN ONT FSRA removed the designated financial services advisor (DFSATM) as an approved credential under the Financial Professionals Title Protection Framework.
Summary
The decision to remove DFSATM will eliminate duplicative fees for credential holders.
DFSATM credential will no longer qualify an individual to use financial advisor title after a six-month transition period - Nov. 22, 2024 - and then another credential is required.
Decision will not impact most DFSATM credential holders as majority hold other approved credentials allowing them to continue to use the financial advisor title.
