On Dec. 2, JPN SCC revised credit default swap methodology.
JPN SCC said the method of counting the number and amount of credit default swap (CDS) transactions in its statistical information will be modified from Jan. 2025.
Overview of Changes
The current one-way basis will be changed into a clearing contract basis, to facilitate numerical comparison with similar data disclosed by overseas clearing institutions.
The previous figures which are included in statistics files to be posted will also be presented on a uniform clearing contract basis, but no retroactive changes will be made in the past monthly statistics files already published in the yearly archives.
JPN SCC will state on the posting page that files prior to 2024 are on a one-way basis.
