BEL GVT published two decrees amending rules on foreigners, EU citizens' residence.
Royal Decree Jul. 4, 2025
BEL GVT published Royal Decree of Jul. 4, 2025 amending the Royal Decree of Oct. 8, 1981 on access to the territory, residence, establishment and removal of foreigners, as regards the submission of the application for a registration certificate.
Corrected linguistic error and adjusted certain annexes following the entry into force of art 2 and 3 of the Royal Decree of Dec. 12, 2023 amending the Royal Decree of Oct. 8, 1981 re rules on Union citizens who travel to the territory for employment.
And rules regarding the renewal of residence documents, the submission of the application for a registration certificate and the application for permanent residence.
Those 2023 annexes were amended by the Royal Decree of Oct. 20, 2024 amending the Royal Decree of Oct. 8, 1981 re rules on the commitment to care in the context of a short stay, and on the Union citizen in the context of seasonal work or studies.
The amendments apply to application submitted after the decree becomes effective.

BEL GVT published Ministerial Decree of Jul. 4, 2025 establishing the entry into force of certain articles of the Royal Decree of Dec. 12, 2023 amending the Royal Decree of Oct. 8, 1981 on access to the territory, residence, establishment and removal of foreigners, with regard to citizens of the Union who travel to the territory to seek employment and with regard to the renewal of residence documents, the submission of the application for a registration certificate and the permanent residence application.
