Overview
Submission of the appraisal reports is not yet mandatory, but lenders that updated their systems/processes to support the reports can integrate them into the workflow.
Gradually integrating the reports will help lenders prepare for full transition by Nov. 2, 2026, when all appraisal reports on loans sold to Freddie or Fannie must use UAD 3.6.

Jun. 4, 2026 Fannie UAD Transition
On Jun. 4, 2026, Fannie issued report on transition to the UAD 3.6 and forms, which must be submitted to the Uniform Collateral Data Portal (UCDP) using UAD 3.6.
After Nov. 2, 2026, revisions to previously submitted UAD 2.6 appraisal reports may be submitted, all new UAD 2.6 submissions will receive an alert and not successful status.
From Aug. 2026, Fannie and Freddie will introduce a new Warning message to alert users ahead of the Nov.2, 2026 UAD 3.6 mandate, and remind users to update to 3.6.
Transition to UAD 3.6 becomes effective on Nov. 2, 2026.
