  • SBA reported economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) available to SD small businesses.
  • Due to losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought that began Jul. 23.
  • Follows SBA Sep. 2024 disaster loans for drought beginning Aug. 27, see #225713.
  • Eligibility
  • EIDLs are eligible for South Dakota counties of Butte, Fall River, Custer, Harding, Lawrence, Meade, Oglala Lakota, Perkins, Carter, Dawes, Sioux, Crook and Niobrara.
  • Covers the economic impacts on businesses dependent on farmers and ranchers that have suffered agricultural production losses and businesses directly impacted.
  • Applicable to small nonfarm businesses, agricultural cooperatives, aquaculture businesses and most private nonprofits, for financial obligations/operating expenses.
  • Businesses primarily engaged in farming or ranching are not eligible for SBA disaster assistance, should contact Farm Services Agency under the Department of Agriculture.
  • Application Due Date
  • The deadline to apply for economic injury is May 16, 2025.
