SWE FI Default Definition Guidelines

On Sep. 17, SWE FI reported compliance with EBA's default definition.

  • SWE FI reported intention to comply with EBA/GL/2026/05, re definition of default.
  • Follows EU EBA Aug. 2026 published guidelines compliance table, see #261017.
  • Captial Requirements
  • The intention to comply by SWE FI relates to art. 178 of Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) (EU) No 575/2013, as updated by CRR3 (EU) 2024/1623.
  • SWE FI set out that the guidelines will apply both to institutions that apply a standardized approach and to institutions that apply an internal approach.
  • This is in relation to when calculating the capital requirement for credit risk.
  • Effectiveness
  • The amendments to the guidelines will apply from 19 October 2026.
