Sep. 2025 V1.4 Update
On Sep. 18, 2025, GE Bundesbank issued updated manual on AnaCredit Plausibility checks version 1.4, and accompanying document to outlier and plausibility checks v8.
Plausibility checks aim to identify anomalies in reported AnaCredit data, which may indicate errors; unlike validation rules, plausibility checks do not automatically imply incorrect data but require either correction or confirmation.
External checks compare AnaCredit data with other datasets (IBSI, FINREP, IMIR) to ensure consistency and completeness; version 1.4 includes corrections to IBSI checks; updates to FINREP methodologies; and the introduction of IMIR checks.
BSI checks compare AnaCredit data with IBSI statistics to identify missing or incorrect data. The checks focus on various sectors (e.g., domestic MFIs, general government) and exclude instruments like trust-based or securitized instruments.
FINREP checks compare AnaCredit data with FINREP financial reporting data, focusing on banks/governments/corporations; methodological variations may create differences.
IMIR checks compare AnaCredit data with IMIR interest rate statistics, focusing on weighted average interest rates for existing/new loans to non-financial corporations.
Since Feb. 2024, reporting entities can confirm flagged anomalies if they result from methodological differences rather than errors; confirmations require specific codes and comments and are subject to Bundesbank validation.
The guidance provided by the manual will be valid from Feb. 1, 2026; GE Bundesbank plans to expand the scope of plausibility checks and refine methodologies over time.
