On Oct. 20, SWE PTS amended documentation language rules.
SWE PTS issued regulation PTSFS 2026:6 amending PTSFS 2024:5 on the accessibility of certain products.
Amendment reduces the need for translations and aligns the rules with how firms operate in the EU internal market, according to SWE PTS.
Summary of responses to summer 2026 consultation is available on SWE PTS website.
Language Requirement Change
Economic operators, such as manufacturers, importers and distributors, may give SWE PTS information in Swedish or English.
This applies to market surveillance cases under the Act (2023:254) on Availability of Certain Products and Services.
Covered information includes the technical documentation and EU declaration of conformity needed to assess whether a product meets the accessibility requirements.
Product information aimed at consumers must still be in Swedish.
