On Feb. 14, 2025, HKEX announced the obsolescence of existing RAP following the rollout of the upgraded RAP, stated that the full launch is scheduled on Mar. 10, 2025.
Existing RAP will be discontinued after Friday, Mar. 21, 2025, and CPs will only be able to retrieve VaR platform reports via the upgraded RAP from that date onward.
CPs should review their internal operational need in accessing VaR platform reports.
If they require urgent discretionary assistance to obtain VaR platform reports outside RAP, HKEX may not be able to provide assistance within the same business day.
HKEX will require up to 5 business days to handle RAP account maintenance requests.
On Dec. 13, HKEX released date for upgrade of report access platform.
HKEX will upgrade its report access platform (RAP) in phases, starting from Dec. 2024, in order to improve usability and security for HKEX and clearing participants (CPs).
Follows May 2022 HKEX confirmed official launch of VaR platform, see #127614.
Platform Upgrade
Phase 1 focuses on RAP for VaR Platform, starting with soft launch on Dec. 23, 2024, which includes system upgrades, selected reports; full launch to be on Feb. 24, 2025.
Old and upgraded RAP will operate concurrently from Dec. 23, 2024 to Mar. 7, 2025.
CPs are advised to review and update their internal systems based on the updated HKSCC report access platform technical guide available on access management portal.
Phase 2 will introduce the secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) for CPs to retrieve CCASS and CCMS reports, with further details to be announced in Q1 or Q2 2025.
CPs shall work with IT teams, vendors to prepare for upgraded RAP by Mar. 7, 2025.
