DEI Standards
Required covered contractors and subcontractors to develop and undertake affirmative action programs, so applicants are employed and are treated without discrimination.
Included different affirmative obligations for non-construction/construction contractors.
DoL to cease promoting diversity and will hold contractors/subcontractors responsible for taking affirmative action, and workforce balancing based on certain demographics.
Proposed to modify administrative enforcement procedures to remove EO components.
DoL is concerned that affirmative action regulations are vulnerable to legal challenge as unlawful and should be rescinded to reduce confusion re contractor obligations.
Effectiveness
The comment period related to EO 11246 has been extended until Sep. 17, 2025.
