SIN IMDA Authentication of Documents


On Sep. 12, SIN IMDA issued plan for online document authentication.


  • SIN IMDA said that online authentication of public documents would be made available from 2025, with an aim of reducing administrative burden for businesses, the public.
  • Overview of Online Authentication
  • SIN IMDA and Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) will digitize authentication of public documents for overseas use, to improve efficiency, security, as well as reliability.
  • This allows Singapore to be the first to authenticate public documents digitally.
  • Once users upload documents online for digital verification at SAL Legalization Portal, an e-Apostille, a digital certificate of authenticity, will be emailed after verification.
  • E-Apostille service will cost SGD 10.70 per document; the first phase of e-Apostille will cover documents issued by SIN ACRA such as business profiles, business certificates.
  • SAL will continue to issue physical apostilles as required; the plans to support documents issued by other public agencies will be announced in due course.
