HHS issued notice for inpatient hospital deductible, hospital, extended care services coinsurance amounts for 2025, under Medicare's Hospital Insurance Program (Part A).
Also published monthly actuarial rates for aged (age 65+) and disabled (under age 65) beneficiaries enrolled in Part B of Medicare Supplementary Medical Insurance (SMI).
HHS also published notice of 2025 Medicare Part A premium for uninsured enrollees.
Inpatient Hospital Deductible
Formulas to determine amounts set under Social security act S. 1813, 42 USC 1395e.
Deductible will be $1,676; daily coinsurance amounts for CY 2025 will include $419 for 61st-90th day of hospitalization in benefit period; $838 for lifetime reserve days.
Will include $209.50 for 21st-100th day of extended care services in nursing facility.
Medicare Part B Rates
Monthly premium for aged, disabled beneficiaries, 2025 deductible, income-related monthly adjustment by beneficiaries, per 42 CFR 407 subpart B and 42 CFR 408.
Monthly actuarial rates are $368.10 for aged enrollees, $487.80 for disabled enrollees.
Standard monthly Part B premium rate for all enrollees for 2025 is $185.00.
Equal to 50% of monthly actuarial rate for aged enrollees (25% expected average total cost of Part B coverage for aged enrollees) plus $0.90 repayment required under law.
The Medicare Part B deductible for 2025 is $257.00 for all Part B beneficiaries.
Uninsured Enrollees
Premium by enrollees 65 and over not otherwise eligible for benefits under Medicare Part A (uninsured aged), individuals with disabilities exhausted other entitlement.
Monthly Medicare Part A premium for 12 months beginning Jan. 1, 2025, will be $518.
The premium for certain other individuals as described in this notice will be $285.
Effectiveness
Deductible and coinsurance amounts announced in notice effective on Jan. 1, 2025.
Medicare Part B rates and amounts announced in notice are effective on Jan. 1, 2025.
