EDPB thanked for sharing information on the status of the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill as it enters the latter stages of consideration by the UKP.
Recalls EC is responsible for negotiating and monitoring adequacy decisions, yet EDPB has been closely following developments in UK and receives regular updates from EC.
Should the EC decide to renew the UK adequacy decisions before end of sunset clause expiry date, then it should consult EDPB for opinion in line with art 70.1s) of GDPR.
EDPB looks forward to contributing to EC’s evaluation of the UK adequacy decisions.
