UK GVT Sanctions Iran Military Figures


On Apr. 18, UK GVT imposed sanctions after attack on Israel, with US.


  • UK GVT, UK OFSI, UK Treasury announced, in a coordinated effort with the US, sanctions on seven individuals and six entities under the Iran sanctions regime 2023.
  • Those designated have enabled Iran to conduct destabilizing regional activity, including its direct attack on Israel, adding to the 400 sanctions already imposed on Iran.

  • Military figures sanctioned in response to Iran’s direct attack on Israel on Apr. 14.
  • UK/US announced sanctions to tighten net on key actors within Iran’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and missile industries and further limit Iran’s ability to destabilize region.
  • Previous sanctions include the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in its entirety and many of those responsible for the attack on Israel, see #199531.
  • UK condemned Iran’s dangerous attack on a sovereign state, which has further inflamed tensions in Middle East and served to further isolate Iran on the world stage.
  • Designations
  • Following individuals/entities are sanctioned: Mohammad Reza Ashtiani; General staff of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic Of Iran, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN), Gholamali Rashid, Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters (KACHQ).
  • As well as the following: Seid Mir Ahmad Nooshin, Sayyed Javad Musavi, Nader Khoon Siavash, Mohammad Gholami, Amir Radfar, Mahtabal, Sarmad Electronic Sepahan Company as well as the Aseman Pishraneh Engineering Services Company.
  • 13 entries added to the consolidated list and are now subject to an asset freeze.
