SIN GVT X-Border Currency Movements

SIN GVT published Corruption drug trafficking and other serious crimes (cross border movements of physical currency and bearer negotiable instruments) (amendment) regulations 2024, to make amendments with respect to bearer negotiable instruments.
It amends the Corruption drug trafficking and other serious crimes (cross border movements of physical currency and bearer negotiable instruments) regulations 2007.
Follows SIN GVT Mar. 2023 issued financial services (amendment) bill, see #166849.
Overview of Amendments
Amends definitions in principal regs, and makes amendments re prescribed amount.
It also makes amendments about times and forms for making reports on moving cash into Singapore; times and forms for making reports on moving cash out of Singapore.
In addition, substitutes reg 4(a) of the principal regs so that it reads: where the person is bringing the cash into Singapore with him by air/land (other than on a train) and he is to enter Singapore at a disembarkation location that is not a military airbase.
Specifically, any time within 72 hours before he appears before an immigration officer for an immigration clearance purpose in relation to his arriving in Singapore.
Makes similar substitution in reg 4(d) of principal regs, regarding bringing cash by sea.
Effectiveness
Amendments operative May 13, 2024, but some are deemed operative Dec. 31, 2021.
