On Jan. 24, GE BaFin said it will apply new ESMA guidelines on EMIR.
GE BaFin announced that it will apply ESMA's guidelines on reports in accordance with European market infrastructure regulation (EMIR), which apply from Apr. 29, 2024.
Apply to derivatives reporting obligations under Article 9 EMIR, trade repositories that check data for accuracy and bodies using data for supervisory/regulatory purposes.
Guidelines are intended to harmonize and standardize reports to improve data quality and aid system risk monitoring, while cutting costs along the entire reporting chain.
Based on Article 16(1) of the ESMA Regulation, the guidelines specify, among other things, reporting logic, reports on different types of derivatives, plus data access.
