Bill Provisions
Provided provisions for group or individual accident or health insurance dependent coverage policies issued, amended, delivered, or renewed after Jan. 1, 2026.
Such policies shall make dependent coverage available to insureds' parent/stepparent.
Applicable if parent/stepparent meets qualifying relative definition, per 26 USC 152(d).
If parent/stepparent lives/resides in accident, health insurance policy's service area.
Exempts specialized health care service plans, Medicare supplement insurance, hospital/accident-only policies, or specified disease insurance policies from provision.
Health maintenance organizations and limited health service organizations are subject.
