UAE MOHRE announced health insurance package at competitive price for all private sector workers and domestic workers in all emirates of the country.
Overview
UAE MOHRE in collaboration with other authorities, organizations launched basic health insurance package for employees in private sector companies, domestic workers in UAE not having insurance systems, in implementation of Health Insurance System.
Implemented as of Jan. 1, 2025, per decision by Cabinet, covers various categories of private sector workers in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah.
Includes 100% of workforce in labor market in health insurance packages implemented mandatorily in Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai for private sector and support workers.
Employers must purchase updated policy as requirement to issue, renew residency.
It does not apply to workers with work residence issued before Jan. 1, 2024 still valid.
While it is mandatory for this category of workers when renewing their residence.
New insurance package, introduced via Care-Dubai Care Network, is competitively priced, symbolic treatment cost will ease financial burden on employers, reduce costs.
It targets workers in private sector and support workers; is valid for 2 years, its value can be refunded for the second year if residence is cancelled; more details provided.
