DEL INS published Bulletin No. 145 for domestic and foreign insurers relating to supplemental breast screening examinations and diagnostic examinations.
Reminded insurers of enactment of bill HB 60 on Jul. 26, 2023, see rule #177223.
Applies to all group, blanket, and individual health insurance policies, with specified exceptions, as well as the State employee healthcare plan and Medicaid.
After Dec. 31, 2024, all policies, contracts, or certificates issued, renewed, modified, altered, amended, or reissued, must incorporate coverage for such exams.
Coverage must be on terms at least as favorable as those for mammogram screenings.
DEL INS expects all filings for Plan Year 2025 to include such examinations coverage.
Also requests that insurers inform consumers of the availability of this coverage.
