RI LEG Temporary Disability Insurance

RI LEG enacted bill SB 2121 to increases temporary disability insurance benefits.
Amends RI LEG 28-41-5 on dependents’ allowances and RI LEG 28-41-35 on benefits.
Bill Provisions
Makes care recipients eligible for temporary caregiver benefits and increases the maximum temporary caregiver benefit weeks from 6 to 8 weeks over 2 year period.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, temporary caregiver benefits limited to maximum of 7 weeks.
Starting Jan. 1, 2026, temporary caregiver benefits limited to a maximum of 8 weeks.
