On Oct. 2, NM INS issued data call re surprise billing Protections.
NM INS issued data call per the Surprise billing protection act (NM INS 59A-57A-11).
Set out in Bulletin 2024-020 issued on Oct. 2, 2024, to all health care carriers.
Provisions
Per its authority to request carriers to report annual percentage of claims and expenditures paid to nonparticipating providers, NM INS is issuing the data call.
NM INS 13.10.33.11 requires carriers to submit a surprise billing data report using a template provided by NM INS to be submitted annually by May 1 of each year.
The report is required to contain data from the full prior calendar year.
Data for Plan Year 2023 must be submitted via SERFF and is due Dec. 31, 2024.
