Schemes Extended
The schemes being extended are the Victorian bar professional standards scheme, CPA Australia Ltd professional standards (accountants) scheme, and the Chartered accountants Australia and New Zealand professional standards scheme.
Regs include remade professional standards scheme titled the Law Society of Western Australia professional standards scheme; no significant differences with earlier iteration.
Effectiveness
Whole of instrument commences on Jun. 22, 2024, being the day after its registration.
Namely, to provide for the prescription of Bar association of Queensland professional standards scheme as a professional standards scheme that has capped civil liability for misleading or deceptive conduct under the CCA, the ASIC act as well as the ASTCA.
Reg amendments commence Aug. 21, 2024, being the day after they were registered.
To provide for the prescription of the Law society of New South Wales professional standards scheme as a professional standards scheme that has capped civil liability for misleading or deceptive conduct under the CCA, the ASIC act and the Corporation act.
