Measures
Employees who are fully disabled due to illness or non-work-related injuries can apply for a monthly disability pension if they have not yet reached the legal retirement age.
If within 5 years of retirement age, meeting minimum contribution years, pension is calculated based on local retirement standards, adjusted according to national guides.
If more than 5 years from retirement, the pension amount is also adjusted per national pension standards, with a reassessment at 5 years from retirement.
If minimum contribution years are not met, the pension duration shall vary.
The disability pension is funded by the basic pension insurance fund; if recipients become employed again and resume contributions, the disability pension is suspended.
Verification requires certification from labor capability assessment body, valid for 1 year; periodic reassessment required, with payment suspension for non-compliance.
Provincial authorities handle application reviews, approving applications, with potential delegation to local bodies; payments start from the month after application approval.
