IOW LEG Labor Services Division proposed replacing IOW LEG 875-9 to protect employees from retaliation when employees make a work safety complaint to OSHA.
Provided a redline of the proposed new chapter 9 on page 623 of the IOW register.
Proposed Rulemaking
Would rescind the current chapter 9 entitled Discrimination Against Employees, and adopt a new chapter 9 entitled, OSHA Discrimination Against Employees in its place.
New rules cover OSHA complaints and proceedings, filing of complaint for discrimination, notice of determination, and arbitration or other agency proceedings.
Consultation
Two public hearings will be held on Nov. 5 and Nov. 6, 2024 from 8:30 to 9 a.m.
Comments on the proposal are due on or before 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2024.

On Dec. 11, 2024, IOW LEG published adoption in State register, Jan. 15, 2025 effect.
