JPN FSA Cessation of Euroyen TIBOR


On Mar. 6, JPN FSA said Euroyen TIBOR will not be issued from Dec.


  • JPN FSA announced that the JBA TIBOR Administration has decided to permanently discontinue the publication of all Euroyen TIBOR at the end of Dec. 2024.
  • Follows JPN FSA Mar. 2023 shared JPN JBA consultation result re TIBOR, see #166404.
  • Also follows JPN JBA Feb. 2024 revised sample of fallback provision, see #201054.

  • As a result of a public consultation in Aug. 2023, the administration received opinions from all parties, favorable to permanent suspension of Euroyen TIBOR from Dec. 2024.
  • Accordingly, the administration decided to suspend the publication from Dec. 2024.
  • It recommended Euroyen TIBOR users to prepare for permanent cessation, by proceeding with transition from referenced contracts, administrative/system changes.
  • JPN FSA will encourage financial companies to take proper responses, in light of the status of transition from Euroyen TIBOR-referenced contracts, response to customers.
