ME LEG reported $8mn in grant funding through the State's Community Resilience Partnership to help communities become resilient to the effects of climate change.
Funding will reduce fossil fuel use and carbon emissions; grants of up to $75k will support local climate resilience and emissions reduction initiatives with record funding.
Community Resilience Partnership Grants
The fifth grant round, it increases maximum award to communities from $50k to $75k
Two or more entities may also jointly apply for up to $175k, an increase from $125k.
This unprecedented level of funding will allow the Partnership, first announced by Governor Mills in 2021, to support more ME communities, in a single round than ever.
Overall, more than 226 communities across the State, representing more than 70 percent of the State's population, are participating in the Community Partnership.
Application Deadline
These communities, plus others who enroll in the Partnership, are now eligible to apply through Dec. 17, 2024 for grants, which will be awarded early next year, 2025.
