WAS LEG approved Bill SB 5793 (HB 1991) to amend the Revised Code of WashingtonWAS LEG 49.46.210 and to add a new section, both relating to paid sick leave.
Paid Sick Leave
Employer or worker's child's school or place of care closes by order public official for any health-related reason or emergency declaration, employer must pay sick leave.
Amended definition of family member, child, spouse, grandparent, and grandchild.
The Department of Labor and Industries must develop materials and conduct outreach to in order to inform individuals and businesses of the new provisions of the act.
