Bill Provisions
Creates the Out-of-network ambulance service provider act and relevant definitions.
Sets a minimum allowable reimbursement rate under a healthcare benefit plan determined by the government agency where covered ambulance services originate.
If no reimbursement rates are set, rate will be lesser of 325% of current published rate for services as established by CMS, or ambulance service provider’s billed charges.
Ambulance service provider is prohibited from billing the enrollee for any additional amounts for the paid covered ambulance services outside of what health insurer pays.
Copayments, coinsurance, deductible, other cost-sharing feature amounts provided by subsection A will not exceed the in-network amounts for services received by enrollee.
