On Oct. 30, SWI GVT amended the Price Indication Ordinance (OIP).
SWI GVT amended the rules of Price Indication Ordinance that govern self-comparison.
Main Points
The provisions governing self-comparison will be relaxed, i.e. suppliers will be able to decide whether to opt for a short-term price comparison, like in the current regulation.
Or for a price comparison without a time limit as provided in the new regulation.
Currently, the comparative price can be indicated for half the period during which it was practiced (half-period rule), but for a maximum of two months (two-month rule).
Suppliers will be able to indicate a comparative price without time restriction and use it for all subsequent price reductions, if they offered the higher price for at least 30 days.
Suppliers who temporarily withdraw a product/service from their offer and offer it again may indicate the last comparative price used before the withdrawal.
