DEN GVT issued an Executive Order on insurance or other guarantee to cover the owner's liability for wreck removal, etc., on behalf of the Danish Maritime Authority.
Order Overview
Executive Order numbered as BEK 1550, dated Nov. 29, 2024, contains requirements
The registered owner of a ship flying the Danish flag and having a gross tonnage of 20 and above must have insurance or other guarantee covering the owner's liability for wreck removal, etc. pursuant to the terms of Chapter 8 a of the Danish Maritime Act.
Applications for the issuance of certificates for Danish ships shall be addressed to the Danish Maritime Authority, and all such applications may now be made electronically.
The application must be accompanied by a declaration from the insurer or guarantor.
The declaration must state that the owner of the ship has taken out insurance or provided other security to cover his liability under the Wreck Removal Convention.
The Danish Maritime Authority may require documentation that the insurer has the right to conduct insurance business and is approved by the insurance supervisory authority in the country where the company has its business address or head office.
The application must state the insurer or person providing the guarantee undertakes to provide compensation to the person who has a justified claim against the vessel owner.
Certificate Issue
For the issuance of a certificate of valid insurance or guarantee, a fee of DKK 315 is to be paid to the Danish Maritime Authority, to facilitate registration and documentation.

Violations
A violation of § 10, subsections 2-4, is punishable by a fine, and companies etc. (legal persons) may be held criminally liable in accordance with Chapter 5 of Criminal Code.
Effectiveness
Executive Order enters in force on Jan. 1, 2025, but it does not apply to Greenland.
