SWI GVT informed that benefits of employer charitable funds have been expanded.
Main Points
On Jun. 14, 2024, the Federal Assembly adopted an amendment to the Civil Code.
It implemented parliamentary initiative 19.456 Benefits paid for prevention purposes are an important task of charitable employer foundations; adding para 4 to art 89a.
In the future, employer pension funds with discretionary benefits will be able to pay benefits regardless of a situation of distress, to prevent the financial risks of illness.
As well of accidents, disability and unemployment not covered by social insurance.
Possibility to pay benefits for new situations, e.g. training and continuing education.
Reconciliation of family and professional life, prevention of health for insured staff and their relatives, contribution to the financing of other employees' pension institutions.
Effectiveness
The amendment to the Civil Code will enter into force on Jan. 1, 2025.
