On Dec. 3, UK BoE issued notice on confidentiality permission review.
UK BoE is again seeking prior approval from reporting institutions to publish aggregate data where they are one of fewer than three contributors to the aggregate.
Follows UK BoE Dec. 2023 issued notice 2023/13 on data permissions, see #194032.
Overview
Seeks institutions' confirmation regarding confidentiality permissions for the upcoming year, firms' input is crucial in maintaining quality and integrity of data UK BoE issues.
Reporting firms will have following options for confirming their permissions: give prior consent for all statistical forms; give prior consent on form-by-form basis or give prior consent with exception of certain data points; opt out, give consent case-by-case.
To assist with firms' confidentiality permissions, the Confidentiality Checks Annual Survey has been successfully onboarded to the BEEDS electronic submission portal.
Firms should log in to BEEDS to review and complete the survey, for groups that submit statistical returns for multiple entities, a separate survey must be completed for each individual entity, to streamline this, key firm information is pre-populated.
If firm has previously given indefinite consent, there is no need to complete the survey on the BEEDS portal, unless it wants to change the approach previously adopted.
Effectiveness
Firms should complete the survey, noting their preference, by 5pm on Dec. 31, 2024.
Permissions granted, excluding indefinite, effective until next review Dec. 31, 2025.
