Templates
Under GSPR Reg 2023/988 on product safety, when information on a product safety recall is provided to consumers in a written form, it must take the form a recall notice.
The European Commission is required to set out the template for a recall notice.
Implementing act provides for such a template, listing elements to be contained.
Effectiveness
Draft is in preparation; adoption planned for third quarter 2024.

On May 27, 2024, EU CMSN issued Commission Implementing Reg 2024/1435 of May 24, 2024 laying down rules for application of Reg 2023/988 on recall notice template.
Regulation establishes the template, set out in the annex, for a recall notice in accordance with Art. 36 of Reg 2023/988; EC will publish this template on its website.
This Regulation shall enter into force on twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union, i.e. Jun. 16, 2024; applies from Dec. 13, 2024.
