SBA made low-interest disaster loans available to Louisiana small businesses economically impacted by the severe or extreme drought Sep. 19 to Dec. 5, 2023.
Eligibility
SBA loans available in all 64 LOU parishes, and Ashely, Chicago, Columbia, Lafayette, Miller and Union Counties in ARK; 12 MS counties, 9 TX counties, as listed in release.
Low-interest federal disaster loans are available to help meet working capital needs for small businesses affected by the drought and resulting crawfish shortage.
EIDLs
Small nonfarm businesses and agricultural cooperatives of any size may also qualify for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) of up to $2 million to meet obligations.
EIDLs can be used to pay normal operating expenses such as fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that can’t be paid because of the disaster’s impact.
Application Deadline
Completed applications for EIDL loans must be submitted to SBA by Dec. 23, 2024.
