VA INS sought comments re Essential health benefits (EHB) benchmark plan for 2025.
The final EHB benchmark plan application for year 2025 is due to CMS by May 3, 2023.

2025 EHB Benchmark Plan
The plan sets the required benefits that must be provided by comprehensive fully-insured individual and small group health insurance coverage issued in Virginia.
Before adopting new plan, VA INS must release for comment and obtain CMS approval.
In addition to current benefits, 2025 plan shall include medically necessary prosthetic devices and components as well as formula and enteral nutrition products as medicine.
Consultation
Public comment on the proposed plan must be submitted by Apr. 12, 2023.
Sep. 2023 VA INS Benchmark Plan Approval
On Sep. 21, 2023, VA INS reported CMS approved Virginia's application in Aug. 2023.
In order to change the EHB benchmark plan for Affordable care act (ACA) health plans offered in the State, for individual and small-group markets beginning on Jan. 1, 2025.
