SBA made Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) available to New Mexico small businesses impacted by economic losses caused by drought beginning Nov. 1, 2023.
Eligibility
Primary NM counties are Bernalillo, Catron, Chaves, Cibola, Colfax, Curry, De Baca, Doña Ana, Eddy, Grant, Guadalupe, Harding, Hidalgo, Lea, Lincoln, Los Alamos.
Also, Luna, Mckinley, Mora, Otero, Quay, Rio Arriba, Roosevelt, San Juan, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe, Sierra, Socorro, Taos, Torrance, Union and Valencia counties.
Neighboring AZ counties Apache, Cochise, Greenlee; COL counties Archuleta, Baca, Conejos, Costilla, La Plata, Las Animas, Montezuma; OKLA Cimarron county.
Small nonfarm businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits may qualify for EIDLs up to $2 million.
Loans are intended to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met by the loan applicant had the drought disaster not occurred.
Deadline
Completed EIDL loan applications must be submitted to SBA by Nov. 25, 2024.
