Follows TAI FSC Mar. 2023 issued action plan for sustainable development, #167744.
Amendments
Companies with paid-up capital below NTD 2bn must prepare sustainability reports in 2025; encouraged to include industry-specific information based on SASB standards.
Enhance climate-related information disclosure, including greenhouse gas inventory requirements, schedule for disclosing carbon reduction goals, strategies, action plans.
Companies with different capital levels have staggered deadlines for disclosure.
The submission deadline for sustainability reports is the end of Aug. each year.
Amendments also made to align with the reorganization of Ministry of Environment.
Effectiveness
The amendments are effective from Jan. 26, 2024.
Jan. 31, 2024 TAI TPEX
On Jan. 31, 2024, TAI TPEX also revised its Rules governing the preparation and filing of sustainability reports by TPEx listed companies and Directions for implementation of assurance institutions for the sustainability report of TWSE/TPEx listed companies.
The amendments are effective from Jan. 31, 2024.
Apr. 23, 2024 International Standard
On Apr. 23, 2024, TAI EXC revised directions in accordance with International standard on assurance engagements 3410, assurance engagements on greenhouse gas statements, to guide assurance providers in evaluating greenhouse gas statements.
Apr. 25, 2024 TAI TPEX Assurance Engagement
On Apr. 25, 2024, TAI TPEX also informed of the revised directions to align with the standard on assurance engagement 3410, re evaluation of greenhouse gas statement.

Oct. 2024 TAI FSC Reminder
On Oct. 17, 2024, TAI FSC reminded all publicly-listed companies in Taiwan that they should prepare sustainability reports for the 2024 fiscal year, starting from 2025.
TAI EXC and TAI TPEX are developing guidelines and disclosure examples for SMEs.
Companies are urged to maintain high-quality sustainability information, avoid exaggeration, focus on building public trust/reputation while preventing greenwashing.
